Most of us are afraid of taking this step because we afraid of failing and that was me, but after I received my junior bookkeeping results and was top achiever, I realized you are never too old to learn something new.

My long-term plan is to qualify as a tax practitioner with SARS and to go full-time into private practice with my own client base. I have worked for bosses for many years now, and I feel as though gaining my qualification will put me on the road to having my own business and being my own boss.

ICB is very flexible. You have many options for exams; either you choose online or paper. The choice is yours. As a mother of three children it was very difficult to reconcile study and home. But because of the opportunity ICB gives, it became much easier.

The interaction to date that I received from ICB was very professional and supportive. My message to the ladies out there is not to compare yourself with others. Believe in yourself and remember, where there is a will, there is a way!

Education is the key to success. The road was not easy but I kept on pushing. Here I am today on my last year. I like to encourage those who have given up that ICB is the best Accredited Academy you can study from.

Its not been the easiest road to work a full time job, have a child that needs extra assistance and also still study, but I made it halfway thru. Nothing is impossible if you just keep pushing thru it all.

I started to look for an Institute to further my studies but it was so difficult without a matric. When l was about to give up, I found out about ICB, they accepted me and am studying financial accounting. l have not yet completed my course, but because of the knowledge l have gained so far, I got a promotion. I am now staff manager.

The ICB curriculum has helped me to successfully complete 3 audits for the company, while studying part-time towards my NQF4 bookkeeping certificate. I have registered my own company, which I will be investing more time & effort into once I’ve completed my NQF5 Technical Financial Accounting Diploma.

The ICB has helped me progress in my career over the years. Due to financial circumstances I had to leave full-time studies at UCT and the ICB awarded credits for subjects I completed there. I started working as a Clerk at a small bookkeeping practice while studying part-time and once I obtained my NQF4 Bookkeeping certificate I progressed to Accounts Assistant at a listed company.

Studying part-time while working as a bookkeeper has made my job easier and less stressful. I plan my studies around my exam schedule, use colourful summaries, and revise with mock tests. Support from my boyfriend and peers keeps me motivated. I enjoy learning, and achieving good marks is rewarding as I build my future.

My journey with ICB has been challenging but rewarding. Balancing studies, a full-time job, and motherhood wasn’t easy, but hard work and dedication made it possible. Some days were tough, but taking breaks kept me going. It’s worth it—just do your best and never give up!

Achieving a top ranking has been one of my greatest milestones, made possible through perseverance, strategic planning, and unwavering support from my family. Balancing work, motherhood, and studies wasn’t easy, but their encouragement kept me going. This achievement is a testament to dedication and resilience—believe in yourself, stay consistent, and never stop learning!!

Balancing life as a wife and mom to twin toddlers while self-studying was tough, but determination kept me going. I studied early mornings and late nights, creating a schedule that worked. Challenges became stepping stones, and I’m grateful to ICB for the chance to prove my capabilities.

I was shocked by my results, never expecting to reach the 90s! Initially, I procrastinated and prioritized social events, but I realized success only happens if I make it happen. Pushing through changed everything. My experience with ICB has been great—my advice to students: stay committed, push through obstacles, and do this for yourself!

My achievement required sacrifices, dedication, passion, and faith. Balancing full-time work and self-study with ICB wasn’t always easy, but with proper planning, it was possible. The knowledge I’ve gained has greatly benefited my career, and I’m eager to keep learning. With determination and belief, anything is achievable!

My studies with ICB required self-reliance, commitment, and focus. This achievement reflects my dedication to learning and applying my knowledge. The rigorous courses pushed me to grow in labor relations and HR management. I’m proud of this milestone and grateful for my family’s support—hope my journey inspires others to keep pursuing their goals!

Achieving these results was a huge surprise! Balancing full-time work and study, especially later in life, wasn’t easy. After nearly 30 years, I pursued my diploma, inspired by my children’s success. Hard work, revision, and dedication helped me succeed. My advice to younger students—finish your studies early; it’s much harder when life gets busier!

Growing up I always wanted to be an accountant.  I started working as an Invoice Administator and now I’m a Finance and Administration intern. I can never have enough words to express how grateful and honoured I am to have been part of the ICB. My journey has been a meaningful learning experience.

Studying with the ICB has given me more self confidence at work and at home. Before, I had self-doubt and thought I was not educated enough to take on tasks. Now I will try to do anything that is given to me. And my goal is to work in the accounting field. If you are thinking of studying through the ICB, don’t think. Just do it! You will not regret your choice.

Thanks to ICB, I can now understand my work and adapt to it easily. Sometimes I go back to my books and CD for further information and knowledge. One can have experience in the industry, but if you don’t have an ICB qualification, you will not be taken seriously. Go get registered with the ICB. Life is easier with them.

After my daughter was born I wanted a career change and to study again, but was a little unsure of what direction to take. My husband suggested bookkeeping. Studying through the ICB has opened up a new world of opportunity to me. The course is practical and has given me the knowledge I needed to make a career change. AND it has restored my confidence – I have realized that I can do anything I put my mind to. I have recently started my first job in accounting at Eastern Cape Accounting & Tax (ECAT) in Humansdorp.
