What you Need to know

  • The above listed subjects are only valid until March 2020.
  • All portfolios for all subjects will be digital as of April 2020.
  • Digital Portfolio’s are available for ALL students (Campus based and Distance).
  • This platform provides  NO tuition and NO academic support in any way or form.  This is only an assessment platform.
  • Your college will still give you all the necessary learning support that you need and do your exam entry if you are a campus based learner.
  • Your Final Exam will still be written at your college / ICB exam venue.

How Does it Work?

  • Exams are booked as normal, but when a Digital PoE is available for that subject, this option will be shown.
  • On booking, students will immediately receive a special LOGIN to access their Digital Portfolio.
  • Digital PoE’s can be completed on mobile, tablet and desktop.  Wi-fi or data is needed for downloads and uploads, but certain work can be done “off-line”.
  • Tests are done on-line with results being available after completion of test. You can also see what questions you got wrong.
  • Final Exams and Results will be exactly the same as per the paper portfolios.

MACCI 2.0 (Digital Portfolios) runs from April 2020 – March 2021 and there are a few changes from the 1st Edition which is valid until March 2020.

  1. All distance students have to register their exams via the student portal as no manual registrations are available as of 2020.
  2. Distance students can complete voluntary / paid postponements on the student portal – provided that it is before the closing date and the exam has not previously been postponed.
  3. Portfolios for all ICB subjects will be digital only as of April 2020 (excluding Workplace Portfolios).
  4. The hard copy of the Admin Guide has been removed from the portfolio and is digitally included. This means that no Admin Guide needs to be completed in hard copy as of April 2020.
  5. For subjects (excluding RPL and RTAP), assignments will still be downloaded and printed but no longer need to be scanned and uploaded to MACCI as of April 2020. These will be completed in hard copy and handed to the exam invigilator on the day of the exam.
  6. RTAP and RPL portfolios will still be completed online – no hard copy submissions will be accepted for marking.
  7. RTAP students only need to upload the dissertation – no upload of a PoE is required, only the dissertation.
  8. The RPL portfolio structure has changed where students will complete 2 x online timed tests and upload a scanned assignment.
  9. All uploads can now be amended by students as needed until the 09:00 deadline on the day of submission – they no longer have to log a request with the ICB for changes.
  10. College administrators can add themselves to MACCI via Provider Portal (Staff MACCI Registration Tab) to monitor their students’ progress.
  11. Providers will not have access to Assignments instead of Tests on the Provider Portal, as tests are all completed online from April 2020 – please use the Portfolio Downloads tab.

Assignments for all subjects, excluding RPL and RTAP, need to be handed back in hard copy on the day of the exam. Only RPL and RTAP subjects must be submitted online.

Tests are completed and marked online with immediate feedback available.

  1. Face-to-Face students have immediate access to their portfolios when registered by their College and distance students have immediate access once their payment has been received and processed. Please ensure to include your student number and/or ID number when payment is made.
  2. It can be accessed anywhere and anytime, provided you have a stable internet connection.
  3. Tests are completed online with an immediate mark – no more marking for  your team which allows them to immediately identify your or your student’s progress.
  4. And to combat plagiarism – all test questions are random which means a student will not be able to tell another student the answer to question 3 for example. Question 3 will be a different question in student no 2’s test.
  5. Your lecturers and administrators get access to the students profiles on MACCI to monitor their progress live.
  6. Providers can also add themselves to the MACCI platform.
  • All subjects as of April 2020 onwards
  1. Exams are booked via the provider portal as “digital portfolios” and the students are automatically enrolled on the MACCI platform.
  2. Distance Students must enrol themselves for an exam via the student portal.
    Once your payment has been processed, you will have access to your digital portfolios on MACCI.
  3. Providers can also add themselves to the MACCI platform. Please refer to the Manual available on the Provider Portal.
  4. A login email is only sent when using MACCI for the FIRST time. All users that have registered previously should use their existing login details.
  5. Digital portfolios have locked steps that are in line with the study phases, i.e.students cannot  progress without completing the previous step.
  6. Students will need to download their assignment booklet, complete and hand in the completed answer book to their invigilator on the day of their exam – this excludes RTAP and RPL which must be submitted online only.
  7. All tests are completed in test conditions. These are timed tests and your students should not  access these prior to your selected test date. These are completed online, marked by the  system and an immediate result is provided.
  8. The online portfolio also includes an introduction, admin guide and close off section.
  9. Students will know that they have completed their portfolios by following their progress on the progressbar until 100% completion.
  10. All portfolios must be completed before 09:00 on the day of the exam.
  11. The digital portfolio can be completed on mobile, tablet and PC desktop.

  2. The digital portfolios are named as per the Exam Code – the same as the code used to book the  students on the provider portal.
  3. All staff and students MUST have their own unique email address.
  4. A new feature has been added to the Provider Portal for Providers to ad themselves to MACCI. Please refer to the MACCI 2020 guide available on the Provider Portal.
  5. Students will need to complete a new digital portfolio if an exam is postponed.
  6. Face-to Face Student results will still be received via the provider portal.
    Distance Students will be able to receive their results via the student portal.
