FASSET has recently launched their Brand Ambassador Campaign. They have partnered with the student platform Student Village.
In the initial phase, FASSET brand ambassadors will be appointed at:
Their appointments coincide with the start of the 2012 academic year.
Most importantly, FASSET brand ambassadors will help to extend and deepen its footprint and reach in rural and impoverished areas throughout the country. The brand ambassadors will represent FASSET, careers within the sector, and its skills upliftment initiatives and offerings at the various campuses at which the brand ambassadors are based. Brand ambassadors will undergo a rigorous training programme to equip them with the requisite skills and knowledge to enable them to position finance, accounting, management consulting and other financial services as the sector of career choice for young South Africans.
FASSET brand ambassadors will be able to connect and identify with fellow students on campus, because:
Brand ambassadors will be encouraged to "think out of the box" and devise strategies which will strike a chord with millennials on campus. These millennials are already pursuing a career in accounting or finance-related fields and may be interested in additionally obtaining a professional qualification. Others may be contemplating careers in finance or accounting. FASSET brand ambassadors will also disseminate information about FASSET-funded development projects (including funded Work Readiness Programmes for graduates), which have enjoyed placement rates in excess of 80%.
Their influence is expected to extend far beyond their campus, into the townships and rural communities in which they live. FASSET is confident that its Brand Ambassador Campaign will assist the SETA to draw more and more students from rural areas and townships into mainstream careers within the FASSET sector.
