Success story: Siyabonga Simelane

Success story: Siyabonga Simelane

My name is Siyabonga Simelane and I'm from Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. I'm studying the ICB's Technical Financial Accounting.

I started my studies in 2015 after hitting a brick wall in my life. I needed a turning point and therefor decided to study. A number of unfortunate incidences and tragedies happened in my life and I was at a stand-still. I lost my job and I was ill. I lost hope, and so did a lot of people around me - even family. I didn't believe in myself anymore, but knew I had to enhance my life for my kids.

Being in the ICB's programme has changed my mindset and my life. It has released my inner power. I proved myself and others wrong. It has made me realise that I'm capable of anything that I set my mind to. It's my time to shine now.

Being a mother of two with no job or qualification is scary, but today I can proudly say that I know I'm heading towards a brighter future for me and my children.

Having to adjust from a science person to a numbers geek has been tough, but the greatest reward has been to be one of the ICB's top achievers in April 2015.

My ambition is to be a remarkable CA. The ICB has opened that door for me and is leading me on the right path.

Studying through the ICB is a great choice and will assist you in your career path and in creating a name for yourself.

I'd like to say thank you to the ICB for the knowledge given to me. And to my lecturer, Gerald Danilowitz from Unigrad College.
