Success story: Living his dream
Little did Aaron Murwira know when he enrolled for his first ICB course in 1991 that he was taking his first step in a very fulfilling career in finance. He worked his way up through associate level and progressed to fellowship (now Technical Financial Accountant level) in 1992.
Aaron then started studying through the Institute of Administration and Commerce of Southern Africa and was thrilled to learn that his previous ICB qualifications exempted him from having to do Financial Accounting Level 1. Consistent, sheer hard work and perseverance led to him graduating with a diploma in Cost & Management Accountancy in 1998.
Aaron is currently studying hard for his CIMA (UK) finals and hopes to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant soon.
These days, Aaron is proud to call himself a seasoned all-round finance professional, and he is working as a management accountant in the printing and publishing industry.
He credits the ICB with shaping his career. "This has always been my dream and my ICB qualifications paved the way for me to see how I could make my dream a reality. My ICB courses inspired me to keep studying and laid the foundation for all my subsequent academic and professional achievements. My international employability is awesome. I am a dreamer living my dream!"
