From ICB learner to Accounting Technician for internationally acclaimed dance company

In July 2015, Luvani Mabale was appointed as the Accounting Technician at Vuyani Dance Company. Luvani is a qualified Accounting Technician, registered with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and Accountants (ICBA). He is also a current ICB learner, and will soon qualify as a Certified Financial Accountant (CFA).

Luvani has worked across a range of sectors – from construction, venture capital and property to enterprise and supplier development. He has a strong corporate background, and played a major role in SAB’s Kickstart and Anglo American’s Zimele enterprise development programmes.

Luvani hopes to to play a meaningful role in the growth of Vuyani as an SMME and also said, "Joining Vuyani Dance Company gives me the opportunity to implement financial systems for the corporate entity while also attending to the company’s corporate social investment arm, Vuyani Dance Theatre. I hope to combine my passion for community development with a sound accounting ethos, to further the vision of the company’s business model".

About Vuyani Dance Company

The company was founded in 1999 as a playground for artistic development, coupled with a strong outreach programme. It has presented cutting-edge theatrical works in major cities like Paris, Auckland, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Washington, New York, Barcelona, Singapore, and more. It has also worked with world-class artists like Hugh Masekela, Sibongile Khumalo, Simphiwe Dana, Salif Keita, Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys.
