Bursary winner: A letter from Myekeni Makeleni

Dear ICB

My name is Myekeni Makeleni and I'm 27 years old. I have faced some big challenges, but I stay motivated, because I can see myself succeeding. I've always had a dream to further my studies and to become a professional in the business world.

My father receives a small grant from the government and my mother is unemployed, but this has never stopped them from giving me their full support. They've also given me a fantastic upbringing, teaching me discipline and good values. I put all my effort into studying hard, because their wish is to see me graduate and become financially independent.

I'm focussed on becoming a Certified Financial Accountant and to run my own business, but limited financial assistance is my biggest obstacle. My savings have become depleted, but I desperately want to finish my studies.

I regard myself as an honest, dedicated and hardworking man with a zest for life. I want to fulfil my dreams through education.

Kind regards,

Myekeni
