Induction course for trainee accountants - March 2012

Overview

1st year trainee accountants will be provided with a step-by-step introduction to work performed in an accounting practice. They will also be provided with monthly support.

Purpose

This course will familiarise first year trainee accountants with the work environment of a professional accounting practice. Trainees will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their work in a professional manner. The training burden on the practitioner will be reduced and the trainee will be able to contribute from day one.

Course content

The course will be presented over a 12 month period. Trainees will be required to attend one full day session in the beginning of the year. On-going training and support will be delivered via online support sessions of 1 – 2 hours each.

Who should attend?

All newly appointed trainee accountants (ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA, IAC, SAIBA, ICB, SAIT).

The course will also benefit other support staff and bookkeepers that need further training in the workflow of an accounting practice.

CPD

Attendance of this seminar will accrue 7 hours CPD for professional members of a relevant professional body such as ACCA, SAICA, AAT, SAIPA, SAIBA, IAC, CIS, ICB, LSSA, FPI, and the IBA.

ACCA is a full member of IFAC. The ACCA CPD policy is compliant with IFAC IES7 and is recognised by SAICA, AAT, SAIPA, SAIBA, IAC, CIS and others.

Cost

  • All delegates: R1,800.00

Special arrangements

January/February 2012:

  • A link to an online training session will be issued monthly to the trainees. Here they will receive a 1 – 2 hour training session with a seasoned practitioner.
  • Bring your own calculator.
  • Special pricing arrangements available.

Alternative investment option:

Alternatively, practitioners may pay a monthly fee of R200 (inclusive) per trainee per month for 12 months - starting January 2012.

  • The course fee covers both the 1 full day face-to-face tuition and 10 online training sessions of between 1 to 2 hours.
  • All practitioners / trainees will be required to sign a 12 month contract.
  • Amounts are payable per employee.
  • Discounts are available for 3 and more trainees that attend from the same firm.
